Things we love about our home and living in D'Aguilar.

From the moment we walked down the hall into the family room and gazed out over the pool, we knew we could make this house a home. We have always loved living here, but the time has come to take the next step in our lives, downsize and find our little place by the sea.

Tucked away in a quiet, peaceful cul-de-sac at the top of the hill with views out to Maleny, we found our retreat, somewhere to come home to after a long day at work. The neighbours in the neighbourhood are friendly without being intrusive. Most Christmas's we gather in the cul-de-sac and enjoy a drink and nibbles while catching up on the past year. The area is peacefully quiet, with only the birds' sound and the occasional lawnmower's hum.

Everything in this home is easy. The gardens have been designed to be low maintenance bird attracting. Tiles are the perfect low-maintenance flooring and, with a ducted vacuum system, makes for a quick clean-up after the grandkids have had their fun. I have always appreciated how easy it is to come home with a car full of groceries, and drive straight into the garage, 5 steps, and the groceries are on the kitchen bench. No stairs, no getting rained on. The kitchen is in the perfect location for entertaining or everyday living. Visitors love to sit at the bench while I prepare a meal/snack or a cup of coffee. At the same time, keeping a watchful eye on the kids in the pool. The grandkids have always enjoyed the big backyard where they can swim in the pool, and have lunch at the bar (keeping the mess outside). Many ball games and water slides have taken place in the gentle sloping yard. The kids have always loved picking their own veggies from the veggie gardens or collecting the eggs from the chicken coop. When the kids have exhausted themselves outside, then it's time to curl up in the media room for some quiet time.

The bedroom areas are separated, ensuring Mum and Dad or Grandparents aren't woken by any little early risers.

The man of the house hasn't been forgotten. Two sheds mean there is plenty of room for hobbies and building projects, fishing gear etc. He will enjoy tinkering around in the shed with power conveniently located in the pool shed. There is plenty of room to store all the toys, caravan, boat and cars.

The quaint town of Woodford is only 4kms away, it has all your basics with Woolworths, IGA, coffee shops, a great pub, a gym, and hairdressers. Everything is there. The town comes alive on the weekends with local markets. Woodford is a great place to be at Xmas time, the Woodford Folk Festival brings an exciting vibe to the area from Boxing day to New Year's day. It's our favourite time of year.

We never intended to move to D'Aguilar, it found us, we soon realised the benefits of living in a country community only 20 minutes from a larger town with all the infrastructure required like Hospitals, train stations, major shopping centres, Bunnings, etc. Everything you need is ideally located.

We have made so many wonderful family memories in this home. I know the next family will enjoy living here as much as we have.
